Abstract #28518

Bruce Lee was a martial artist and one of the greatest actors of all time he was also a martial arts instructor, philosopher, independent filmmaker and founder of Jeet Kune Do. He was born in China Town in the city of San Francisco on November 27th, 1940. He was the son of a Chinese opera star and was also featured in a few films at an early age. He went back to China and spent most of his early youth there. As a youth he was said to be hot headed so his father put him in a martial arts class. He would continue his practice in Chinese Martial arts and later become a student of the late great Ip Man. He moved back to china when he was a youth and returned to the United States of America when he was 18 years old to peruse his college education. It was during college that Bruce Lee started teaching Martial Arts to a few students it was there where he met his wife Linda Lee Cadwell. When Lee became more involved in his training in San Francisco during college he began taking a higher interest in nutrition and training. He was known for making protein shakes and doing heavy muscle training. Bruce Lee’s college major was in Philosophy. He was also a very good writer creating works on his view on Martial Arts and his Jeet Kun Do, as well as poetry publishing many of his works in books for public purchase. Lee began taking his acting career very seriously after college and worked on a few movies with Warner Bros. Inc. where he was ripped off for a few movies he helped create. Evidently his career would not stop there, he later began producing his own films that would become his legacy. These films include “The Big Boss” and “Fist of Fury.” His final and most prestigious film was The Way of the Dragon which won tons of academy awards and honorships.
